The report, entitled Converging Defences, argues that the war in Ukraine and the ongoing…
By Andre Pienaar A pattern has taken shape on the streets of north-west London that British counter-terrorism policing can no longer describe as opportunistic antisemitism. In the space of roughly five weeks, synagogues, Jewish charities, a Jewish emergency medical service, Iranian dissident media, and the perimeter of the Israeli Embassy…

On December 28, 2007, the Directorate of Special Operations (DSO), known as the Scorpions, charged Jacob Zuma with eighteen charges of money laundering and corruption based on seven hundred and fifty-three illicit payments he received while serving as the Deputy President of South Africa. The indictment of Zuma was the result of an extensive investigation by the Scorpions that commenced five years earlier in 2002. The investigation was global, involving the Scorpions working through mutual law enforcement with law enforcement agencies across 12 countries. The indictment followed the conviction of Zuma’s financial adviser, Schabir Shaik, in May 2005 on two…
As the war in Ukraine enters a second year, Russian losses are mounting at an alarming rate with losses expected to reach 500,000 soldiers by 2025 if the number of casualties sustained in President Vladimir Putin’s Special Military Operation continues at the same rate. The British Ministry of Defence believes that the average daily number of Russian casualties in Ukraine has risen by almost 300 during the course of 2023. If the numbers continue at the current rate over the next year, the MoD said, Russia will have lost over half a million personnel in Ukraine. In the two years…
Alexei Navalny, hailed as the Kremlin’s most formidable critic, fearlessly exposed corruption entrenched within President Vladimir Putin’s political party, enduring substantial personal sacrifices. From surviving a near-fatal poisoning attempt to imprisonment since 2021, Navalny’s unwavering commitment to exposing political corruption remained steadfast. Unfortunately, on 16th February, news of his death in prison shook the world. While much of the Western world condemned Putin for Navalny’s death, a wave of conspiracy theories surfaced. Among these unfounded claims were suggestions that Ukraine engineered Navalny’s demise to secure a US aid package or that Navalny met his end due to the Covid vaccine.…
Iran is set to become one of the largest suppliers of weapons within the next decade, western intelligence agencies believe. The Islamic republic sold around 1bn USD worth of weaponry to a variety of countries around the world in 2022/23, three times as much as the previous year. Tehran has agreed arms deals with Russia, Sudan, Syria, North Korea, and Venezuela, with combat drones being one of the weapons of choice for many pro-Iranian governments. Thousands of Iranian-made Shahed suicide drones, which carry an explosive warhead and are designed to crash into their targets, have been sold to Russia for…

Months of Congressional chaos have left U.S. aid to Ukraine paralysed, creating a four-month deadlock in providing essential assistance that it needs to prevent a Russian victory. Now, the U.S. Senate proposed a comprehensive $95 billion aid package, earmarking $60 billion specifically for Ukraine. However, the fate of this much-needed aid remains uncertain as it faces challenges in the House of Representatives, where Speaker Mike Johnson, who ascended to his position amid the removal of Kevin McCarthy by a group of ‘Hateful Eight’ Republican members, holds a significant influence. The impending catastrophe, if swift action is not taken, demands immediate…
Day One of the 60th edition of Munich’s Security Conference saw the Israel-Hamas war and concerns surrounding the war spilling over borders across the region dominate this year’s agenda. As the war enters its fifth month, the Israel-Hamas war has resulted in over 28,000 Palestinian fatalities and approximately 1,430 Israeli deaths, with still no resolution in sight. “There are lots of things we need to start talking about now,” Cameron said, addressing Britain’s House of Lords. “Whether it’s about this question of how you offer a political horizon to people in the Palestinian territories, or indeed, how we deal with…

Why I’m standing down as an MP and the importance of tackling hate and misinformation Mike Freer – Conservative MP for Finchley and Golders Green As readers may already be aware, last month I announced my decision not to stand again at the next General Election as the Conservative parliamentary candidate for Finchley & Golders Green. Serving as the area’s Member of Parliament since 2010 has been the greatest privilege of my 34-year life in public service, and this was, without doubt, one of the toughest decisions I’ve ever had to make. I’m proud of my achievements as an MP,…

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced Friday he has instructed the military to formulate a two-fold plan to evacuate civilians from the city of Rafah, the last neighbourhood where Gazans have sought refuge – and to defeat the remaining Hamas battalions. “It is impossible to achieve the war objective of eliminating Hamas and leaving four Hamas battalions in Rafah,” Netanyahu’s office said in a statement. “On the contrary, it is clear that intense activity in Rafah requires that civilians evacuate the areas of combat”. “Therefore”, the statement continued, “Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered the IDF and the security establishment…
